Pandas in Scotland, Iceland & Ireland

Day 2: Edinburgh

I had thought of going through to St Andrews today but Robs thought shopping in Edinburgh was a better idea. Thinking that probably having a chilled day was not a bad idea, we agreed. That was until she took us on a route march to all her favourite shopping areas. 6 km later we stopped for a lunch break and a much needed cocktail in a cute courtyard spot.

It was the perfect spring day to take in the sights of beautiful and historic Edinburgh, although chilly, it was bright and sunny.

Edinburgh is full of local coffee shops, bistros and pubs, all charming and full of character. In the early evening, we met up with Tan, a friends of Kirst’s, now living in Edinburgh. It was great to catch up with her in a little pub next to our hotel, in Morrison St, in Morrison Crescent – what are the odds??

After curry for dinner, we had a tightener (final drink) in another pub around the corner. Travelling with kids is clearly not good for one’s liver.
